Working your way to Hell
People have some funny ideas about hell. Many think Hell is a place that only bad people go. People don't go to Hell for being bad, people go to Hell because they think they can get to Heaven without Jesus Christ. This idea that it is possible to get to Heaven by yourself because of the things you do is called self righteousness. You are self righteous if you think that because you go to church every week you will go to Heaven. You are self righteous if you think that because you do as many good deeds as you can, don't drink, don't smoke, live a clean life, never swear, love your family, go through religious sacraments, or are thought of as a great person in the community you can get to heaven. These are all self righteous acts because they are things you do by yourself.
What does God think of your
righteousness? But we are all as
an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags...
(Isaiah 64:6)
That's right, God counts man's
righteousness as filthy rags. You can't get to Heaven on your own
righteousness; you need God's righteousness. So,
if you are trusting anything other than Jesus Christ to get you to Heaven, you
are trusting your own self righteousness, and that will earn you nothing but a
hot seat in Hell.
Ignorance is no excuse!
If you think that just because
you don't want to hear about the Gospel or going to Hell or any of that
"God stuff" that God won't send you to Hell, you are mistaken.
Once you reach the time in your life that you know right from wrong and you know
that when you do wrong you are sinning against God, you are accountable, and on
your way to Hell. Don't think that just because you ignore it and don't
think about it that it will go away, you will go to Hell just as fast as the
next guy, no questions asked.
Also, if you think that because you have your own beliefs about what salvation
is that God will respect them, he certainly will not. He is the author of
everything and he has told us what salvation is. There is no gray area or
room for argument about it. ...God
is no respecter of persons: (Acts 10:34)
Your beliefs will send you straight to Hell,
unless they are consistent with what God said.

A Burning Lake of Fire
Ok, if you have sinned at least once in your life and rejected Jesus Christ as your savior, you have met the requirements for Hell. So, I'm going to tell you now about the place in which you are spending eternity.
People have their own ideas about Hell. They think it is your worst fear played out over and over again, they think it is simply the grave, and some think it is a never ending party with all their favorite bands playing and Satan as the guest of honor. The truth is, none of these are correct.
Hell is a lake of fire. When you go to Hell you burn, and it will be a burning without end.
So shall it be at the end of world: the
angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just...
...and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and
gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13: 49,50)
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (Revelation 20: 12)
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works (Revelation 20: 13)
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night... (Rev 14:11)
This is not science fiction or some story made up thousands of years ago to scare people, this is fact and you will find out for yourself if you do not accept Jesus Christ as your savior. Salvation is a free gift. That means that all you have to do is accept it. There is nothing you can do to earn it.
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8;32)
There are no second chances. You have this entire life to get saved. Once it is over, you will be judged based on your life. Will God see your righteousness or his righteousness? The only way to get his is through Jesus Christ. This is the most important decision you will ever make!
